COLLAGEN’S ROLE IN HEALTHY BONE DENSITY
Bones are living and changing tissues made from a variety of mineral structures including collagen, calcium, and phosphorus. Collagen plays a critical role in bone structure as it’s the main component of bone protein and it’s integral in ensuring bone flexibility and strength. The body has special cells that constantly produce collagen-rich bone tissue, and other cells that reabsorb bone tissue. Healthy bone density is maintained when the production and reabsorption of bone tissues are in balance.
Healthy bones are dense with collagen which makes them strong and resistant to physical forces. As we age, our collagen production drops, we see greater rates of bone reabsorption, and our bone mass declines; the result is osteoporosis. Bones lacking collagen are brittle, fragile and easily broken.
HOW DOES DEEPMARINE HELP TO BUILD BONE DENSITY?
Studies have identified small-molecule marine collagen as being uniquely effective at improving bone mineral density. Not all collagens will interact with bone-producing cells, but small-molecule marine collagen peptides work to stimulate collagen synthesis in the bone-producing cells and this brings back a healthy balance in bone density.
